About Health4U

The goal of MSU’s Health4U Program is simple: to promote healthy lifestyles for the faculty, staff, graduate student employees, retirees and the spouses/partners of members of these groups.

The program is introducing personal health coaching services, classes, seminars, support networks, and online services designed to expand opportunities for you to make a positive difference in your own health and the health of the campus community.

The Health4U Program has three focus areas:

  • Health4You—health promotion directed to individuals
  • Health4MSU—health promotion focused on the campus environment
  • Health4U Outreach—health promotion directed to campus departments and the community

To reap the benefits of the Health4U Program, all you have to do is participate in our programs, many of which are offered at no cost.

In our health promotion classes, for example, you’ll learn about healthy lifestyles and how to make health-smart choices in your everyday life. We schedule classes from September through August, varying the times and dates to maximize participation. A few of the classes are:

You can participate in our healthy lifestyle activities, such as the monthly Relaxing Under the Stars at Abrams Planetarium. You also can schedule a Chair Massage Sampler for your department or join the MSU Walking Project.

Staying informed about the latest news on health topics is simple through our free Healthy E-Mail Service. You also can register for the Recipe for Health Project offered in partnership with University Housing Dining Services, enroll in the Finding Balance, and find support for your caregiving role through the Caregivers Together support group.

The Health4U Coaching Service gives you access to the assistance you need to address health and lifestyle issues related to Emotional Wellness, Health Consumerism/Self-Care, Movement/Fitness, NutritionMatters, or Tobacco Cessation.

Finally, Health4U invites you to explore our campus and community outreach program. The goal is to promote health to populations within and beyond MSU. Consider the ways in which you can benefit personally or professionally from these outreach functions:

  • Consulting—We offer consulting services to academic and service departments to promote health in the worksite. We’ll also make our health promotion expertise available to groups that use MSU as a conference center.
  • Research— We partner with academic departments and faculty interested in research related to the work of the Health4U Program.

The Health4U Program is continuing to launch new and expanded health promotion services throughout the year. Join us in helping to create a healthier campus and a healthier you.
