Campus Partnerships

The Health4U Program has established partnerships with campus based departments whose academic/service expertise enhance the development of a health promoting workplace environment and/or promotes healthy lifestyles for the faculty, staff, graduate student employees, retirees, and spouses/partners of members of these groups. The following list describes current campus partnerships projects/services and provides links to additional information:

MSU's Healthy State Web site
MSU Human Resources' Web site that is a resource to all MSU faculty, staff and retirees that lists the most current and comprehensive information about health care and health care cost management issues at Michigan State University.

Culinary Cooking and Concepts
Developed in partnership with the University Club this program features a monthly cooking demonstration or a nutritional concept presentation.

Family Resource Center (FRC)
The mission of the FRC is to help MSU students, staff, and faculty, navigate their responsibilities at work, school, and home. Classes and events held by FRC include:

Finding Health Information on the Internet Project
Developed in partnership with the MSU Libraries health sciences librarians this project provides advice and guidelines to accessing good, reliable health information on the internet.

Recipe for Health Project
Developed in partnership with Residential Hospitality Services–Culinary Services this project offers a monthly Recipe for Health featuring the healthful properties of a seasonal food and a recipe you can make at home.

Movement/Fitness Focus Area Partnerships
To promote awareness of and participation in exercise/fitness activities Health4U partners with Intramural Sports and Recreative Services, Olin Health Center-Life:Rx Program, the University Club-Fitness Center and Spa, and the MSU Tennis Club to advertise the wide range of individual/group exercise opportunities available daily through programs and facilities located on the MSU campus.

MSU Campus Walking Loops Map
Developed in partnership with the Campus Planning and Administration-GIS the MSU campus walking loops map provides an online guide to walking routes across the campus.

MSU Moves
Developed in partnership with Intramural Sports and Recreative Services and Olin Health Center MSU Moves offers an online tracking system for individuals interested in keeping a record of their exercise and movement.

Relaxing Under the Stars
Developed in partnership with Abrams Planetarium this monthly noontime program offers an opportunity to experience a relaxing pause in the middle of the always busy workday/week/month.

U Can Quit. We Can Help! Campaign
Developed in partnership with Olin Health Center this campaign recognizes that different smokers need different types of help.  Smokers interested in quitting the use of tobacco products can find out which program is right for them by visiting the U Can Quit. We Can Help Web site.
