Intentional Parenting - Building a More Meaningful Connection with our Kids
Getting clear on our values, being present, and using curiosity to help guide more meaningful connection with our kids.
How do we as parents make sure our kids get the love and support they need to thrive while balancing all of the other stuff on our to-do list - including time for ourselves? How do we handle parental guilt when we realize we missed the ball, or conversely, find ourselves doing too much for our kids but don’t know how to stop? This course is for parents of school aged children who have read zero-to-many parenting books and articles, and while it cannot promise overnight solutions, we will explore and discuss:
- Some basics of established and emerging theories about parenting and families.
- Building awareness around our own mental and feeling states and how they impact our relationships with our kids.
- How to identify and ground in our own values as parents, and why this is important.
- The skills, tools, and perspectives to encourage open and honest communication about wants, needs, and wishes.
