MSU Academic Women's Forum: Skill Building Sessions
The MSU Academic Women's Forum creates a venue for discussing ways to support academic women working and doing research at MSU.
The forum is designed to allow women an opportunity to connect, build community and explore issues relevant to navigating professional life at MSU.
All faculty, academic staff, post-docs, librarians and graduate students who identify as women are cordially invited to participate in the 2016-2017 sessions of the MSU Academic Women’s Forum. The forum is open to anyone with a desire to actively support the success of women identified academics in our MSU Community.
Over the course of the academic year, the forum will address topics chosen by the participants. Some topics already identified by academic women on campus include:
- Building social connections
- Navigating systems of power and privilege
- Connecting with existing campus and community support systems
- Balancing competing and conflicting roles and expectations experienced by women in academic life
