Reflect & Connect: Mixing Holidays and Difficult Conversations: Strategies to Turn Down the Heat
This is an opportunity to gain intentional practices to help ground ourselves in order to serve others in our roles as employees, coworkers, parents, partners, and community members.
Does the potential for challenging conversations with family and friends at the holidays stress you out?
Participants will learn how to:
- Suggest conversational guidelines which allow for the range of opinions that might be shared
- Listen empathetically
- Identify strategies to find common ground
- Share views in a non-confrontational manner
- Improve awareness of campus and community resources to assist the development of these skills
Refreshments will be provided during the 90-minute lunchtime session. For specific information about the session including an overview and reasons why you should attend, please view our flier.
Co-sponsored by MSU Office of the University Physician-Employee Assistance Program, Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, Graduate Student Life and Wellness, and the WorkLife Office.
