Exciting news from MSU Moves… Registration for the 2018 Winter Warm Up is open! The Winter Warm Up is a free 5K training program offered by our partners at the Playmakers Fitness Foundation and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. This eight-week training program is designed for walkers, walk-runners, and runners at any fitness level, and beginners are encouraged to join. Participants will attend two weekly one-hour training sessions with certified Good Form Running and Walking coaches from Playmakers. In addition, participants will receive weekly communication with training and nutrition tips. The group will run/walk outside, so layer for warmth!
MSU’s group will meet on Monday & Wednesday, 5:30p – 6:30p at 108 Bessey Hall beginning on Monday, January 29, 2018. The program culminates with the Blue Cross Winter Warm Up 5K walk/run and celebration at Hawk Island Park on Sunday, March 25, 2018. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate (no MSU affiliation required). The training sessions and goal 5k are free, but registration is required (link below).
